Better Materials

What goes into a product matters. Florida Tile products are designed with a focus on material transparency, recycled content, and ingredient optimization – supporting responsible material use and contributing to healthier, more sustainable built environments.

Material Transparency & Optimization

Recycling is a core part of how Florida Tile operates. Materials generated during manufacturing are not treated as waste, but as inputs that can be reused, repurposed, or redirected.

Each year, this approach results in significant volumes of materials being recycled and reintegrated into production: [Get year these statistics are from]:

Material transparency is foundational to how products are evaluated today. Florida Tile provides visibility into product composition through tools like Health Product Declarations (HPDs), offering a clearer understanding of material ingredients and associated impacts.

Our products are also developed to align with the Living Building Challenge Red List Free, supporting material selection that prioritizes human health. This includes Panariagroup USA Porcelain Tiles and Panariagroup USA Porcelain Tiles with Microban®, which are Red List Free.

Recycled Content

Florida Tile incorporates recycled content across many of its products, helping reduce the demand for virgin raw materials and supporting more efficient use of resources.

This approach is consistent across production, with all porcelain tile manufactured at the Lawrenceburg, Kentucky facility containing a minimum of 40% recycled content. Our recycled content is independently verified by Bureau Veritas, providing confidence in reported values and supporting project documentation and certification requirements.

By integrating recycled materials into our products, we’re able to keep valuable resources in use longer - supporting the circular economy while reducing overall environmental impact.
